The South hams chess club is back in full swing following the summer sabbatical.

This week all the internal club games went with form. David won against Trevor: an unorthodox game. Alan beat Lance: one mistake led to another. Steve beat Phil: taken to the wire. Cathy won against Arthur: an even game, until it wasn't.

These results leave the club champ Steve ahead at the top of the league with 5 out of 5. At the other end of the table is our newest member Lance, he has a less enviable 100% record!

This season we have entered the Torbay Chess Leagues 1 & 4, as well as the RapidPlay and Knockout competitions.

There is the excitement of The upcoming 55th Torbay Congress taking place November 10-12th at TLH Toorak Hotel, Torquay, with 1 member helping the organisation, 3 members taking part and an opportunity to catch up with previous club members and friends from other local clubs.
